best tattoo artist melbourne

From sketchbook to skin.

In all my earliest memories, drawing has been my passion—how difficult it is and how exciting it is to create something out of nothing.

Growing up in Frankston on the Mornington Peninsula, I developed a deep appreciation for Australia's diverse flora and fauna, which continues to inspire me today.

My path into tattooing began unexpectedly. Initially trained as an illustrator, I spent years crafting visual narratives for an education company based in Melbourne. While I cherished bringing characters and worlds to life for print, I yearned for a more intimate, hands-on creative experience; tattooing.

At 24, I ventured to Berlin, where I embarked on my first tattoo apprenticeship. It was here that my love for tattooing started. However, I felt compelled to return to Melbourne to fully dedicate myself to the craft. Securing an apprenticeship at Voodoo Ink in St Kilda propelled my journey further. After a lot of hard work, early mornings, and late nights, I left Voodoo closer shaped into the artist I am today.

Outside of the studio, my life is enriched by my two beloved cats, Clover and Marmalade, who often inspire the playful spirit in my designs. I also share our home with my supportive partner, whose encouragement fuels my creative journey every day. We always strive to find the simple joys of life.

Influenced by Japanese woodblock prints and the natural world, my tattooing style merges intricate detail with simplified forms. I strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment where your ideas can flourish. Whether you're embarking on your first tattoo adventure or adding to your collection, I am committed to crafting a piece that resonates with your unique story and endures through time.

Working with me is an experience marked by creativity, collaboration, and comfort. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, heard and where every piece has its own unique feel.

I look forward to working with you and hearing about your story :)

Thanks,

Andre
